Obama, Chappelle?

I was listening to NPR on the way in today, and Barack Obama was being interviewed regarding some speech he was going to give in Alabama. I’ve heard his voice before, on TV, but I think this may have been the first time I heard it on the radio, and I noticed something. It reminds me of Dave Chappelle’s “white” voice.

I don’t know why I didn’t notice it before — he sounds the same on TV as on the radio. Heh.

The only example I could find online is unfortunately at metacafe’s broken flash site that only shows the upper left corner of the video, but the audio is there. The example is a ways in there, but it’s a funny skit, so I think it’s worth the wait. (I wonder if the site works better if you use Windows.)

Then compare to Obama’s interview on NPR (unfortunately only available in Real and WM formats, why is everyone so insolent today?).
